Development Trusts
A development trust is a community owned and led enterprise that looks to develop and secure community prosperity and build community assets.
They are interested in the economic, environmental and social regeneration of the community and work on a not for profit basis.
Development trusts are about the community working together to build strong and sustainable communities.
A wide range of activities can be undertaken by development trusts, these might include:
- Ownership and management of community woodland
- Providing support and advice to local community groups
- Developing play and recreational areas
How to get involved?
You can become involved in a variety of ways:
- Volunteer
- Member
- Support specific activities/ projects
There are development trusts in both Gorebridge and Mayfield/ Easthouses.
